Yakate Veroshi Vs. Hyosuke Asako

With a massive trail of sand trailing behind him, Yakate walked into the arena through the Northern entrance. His arms were folded across his chest, and he took steady, slow steps. The sand followed him obediently, swirling like a snake on the ground, making rough noises, grains of sand tumbling upon the ground. There was enough sand to cover at least half of the arena's ground with sand. But Yakate would think twice before doing that...

For his opponent was his very own sister. How would he beat his own sister...? The dearest one in his life? Yakate silently began cursing the tournament organizer beneath his breath...

Last time he had left him, he left powerful words upon her, insisting her to train herself. He himself volunteered for her training...

All he knew now, was that she was trained under one of the legendary Grand Sannin of the land. How well she was trained, he did not now. All he knew was to keep to the ninja code of conduct. His objective was to beat his sister in a battle. No matter what the circumstances, he had to win... to reach a new start to his days of glory.

He kept walking until he reached the bank of that single, narrow stream that crossed the middle of the battle-field. His sand followed, forming a thick circle around him. With arms folded, and an emotionless look on his face, he waited for Asako to show up...

The blind eyes of Asako stared at the chakra form of her brother, followed by it's sand, full with his chakra, from above of one of the walls. She cursed Surp for making her fight her brother. Knowing him, Yaka-baka's first objectinve would be to beat her. So, she would have to be very careful.

She analyzed his fighting style once again in her head.
"Long range fighter. Element: Sand. Character: stubborn, determinded. Rank: Kazekage. Strength: Kage strength level. Weaknesses: Water, his sister, spiders, whining, has not a lot of expercience politically, women, just a little...Strong long-range fighter, almost untouchable thanks to his sand. Fails in genjutsu also...In one word: Yaka-Baka will beat me in no time if I don't try my best a minimum."
She crouched down and twirled some of her hair around her finger, and seemed to think.
She needed a strategy first. Just some way to get his attention and propose him a plan...She hated the fact that she didn't learn shadow clone yet.

She closed her eyes and kept thinking. Time passed, but she wasn't planning to move till she had some idea to fight her brother properly. And if possible not to lose...

After ten minutes of reflection, she stood up, made a handseal and created a clone, which she send to the other side of the arena wall and made it jump down from there. She didn't need to risk her own life to give him a message...

Yakate had been still for such a long time, he detected his sister's chakra signature for a long time. He was patient, so he kept waiting for a long time, waiting to see when she was ready. She was possibly thinking out a strategy; she was definitely smarter than him. But not stronger; unless she had gone through some massive training in the past.

After a solid ten minutes, he noticed that she had made a clone, a weak, normal, academy student-ranked clone, to come towards him instead of her. Neither was the clone looking that offensice, she was approaching him slowly. Yakate knew that something was wrong; Asa wouldn't send a clone to do her bidding, not unless it was something important, or...

Instead of attacking the clone, Yakate just opened his eyes, and focused his mind a bit harder on the sand beneath him, lest any hostilities were approaching. Well, yes. Yakate usually fought offensive. But that was when katon was his sole, mastered element. With Sand, he started getting used to fighting as defensively as possible. Patient as a rock, as grain of sand... a single grain of sand. Each grain of sand in the desert, stood there for years, generations, milleniums, just waiitng. No wonder people talked of the sands of time...

Asako kept walking slowly, smiling and made a hand sign to her brother. Her hand palm was turned to him and three fingers were closed. When they were kids, they used that sign to tell each other that they had a secret to tell each other when other people were around.

The real sand shinobi looked down at her brother.
"Well, Yaka-nii-sama...You grew up since last time I saw you."
She smiled softly at him and waited for his answer.

Seeing that familar old hand-sign, Yakate smiled, and momentarily lost his concentration. So long, is had been, since he had seen that hand-formation. It seemed to fill his mind with a euphoric feeling, something that made him... happy. Streaks of his child-hood memory flashed by...

And then he came back to reality.

The real sand shinobi looked down at her brother.
"Well, Yaka-nii-sama...You grew up since last time I saw you."
She smiled softly at him and waited for his answer.

Hearing Asa's words again added to his ecstatic feeling. He didn't care about the fact that he might have to even kill her pretty soon; for now, they could just...talk. Enjoy their time before their battle. The calm before the storm; was it?

Her words had a positive impact upon Yakate. It hadn't really been that long that they hadn't seen eachother... but a rather good conversation starter. Smirking slightly, he began thinking like a brother, not a warrior ninja, not a kage, and replied, mockingly;

"And you've defeinitely become a lot prettier. Hmph..."

Asako smiled and made another hand sign, which meant in their child language 'tie', 'break' or 'let's stop fighting'...

Asako groaned in herself for a moment. She just hoped that Yaka still remembered about all those handsigns...Because, if there was one thing she remembered as flaw in their language, was that he mixed them up all the time...

Yakate still had his arms folded, as he kept getting reminisces from his past. All those fun times he spent together... and now? He was a stuck up busy man, feared to be the strongest in Sunagakure, yet all he did was paperwork!

Asako smiled and made another hand sign, which meant in their child language 'tie', 'break' or 'let's stop fighting'...

Seeing another hand-sign, Yakate's mind blacked out for a moment. Even though the first hand-sign, he had perfectly recalled, the second had slipped through his mind. He had seen it before... but he didn't know what it standed for!

Searching his mind for other past memories, he was completely lost. What did the hand-sign mean...?

Time to make yet another, kage-style, false assumption!

In these circumstances... uhm... Asa would want him to be strong. So the sign probably meant "Give me your best shot?" ... So that was the answer! Asa wasnted him to fight with all he's got...

Closing his eyes, and letting out a short burst of air from his mouth, Yakate drew up a tendril of sand from the sand around him, and used it to jab at his sister's stomach...

The clone was pierced by the attack, like it was nothing. Since it was a simple genjutsu, the sand didn't affect it and the young girl had just to keep concentrating on her clone.
She let it make the hand sign again, and make it frown a little, hoping he'd get the message...

Something jerked himself at the back of his head. His interpretation was false... haha. Nothing happened to the clone, naturally. It was merely genjutus, nothing more... Once again, he began thinking out what she was trying to tell him...

If not fight her, then... oh. Maybe...

They did care about each other so much; too much to fight each-other. So, her idea was approvable... if that was her idea. Yakate was still unsure; his memory was failing him.

Doubtfully, Yakate nodded, and just closed his eyes and smiled. If he was wrong about his assumption, he would just look stupid... which wouldn't be much; he had been in a LOT of embarassing situations with his sister. This was just like any other....

The blind kunoichi felt like cheering.
"Yay! He got my plan. Now I need to explain him the plan."

This time, Yakate fully understood her message. Since the hand-signs she used was one of his favorite when they were children, most frequently used. Play, show, fight, harm, each-other...

he smiled gently again, and nodded. Defensively, he drew his sand around him to surround his-self, his body. His body was surrrounded by what looked like an orb of sand, leaving only his face visible. With that simple movement, he awaited his sister to do something... which he could certainly, well, almost certainly block or dodge.

As he waited, he began to feel incredibly hot. The sand surrounding his body prevented fresh air to meet his body; prevented his body heat from getting out of his body. So this was the sacrifice that kept Sand ninja tough, the harsh training that they go through in the desert. If strength came through sweat and hard-work; Sand ninja were the greatest ninja in all of the world!

The clone disappeared and the real Asako stood up. She decided not to speak a single word through the whole battle. There wasn't anything to say anyway.
She infused her fists full of chakra and jumped from the wall. At the moment she landed, she punched the ground, releasing all the concentrated chakra in her move.
The earth rumbled, cracked and suddenly exploded in the direction of Yakate, making huge blocks of stone and earth flie around the place...

Sseeing the load of dust, rubble, earth, stone, flying towards him, Yakate went through another time-stop battle strategy moment.

Huge block of earth and stone were flying towards him; if he got hit he would be instantly knocked out. Not only that, a fissure was running along the ground, towards him, in which he could fall and die just like that. Yeah... time to think on what to do. And no worries, time was non-existant now...

... He could just use a huge pillar of sand from beneath him to propel him into the air. But the impact on the ground would injure him terribly. So... next option.

Time came back to him, and without even thinking, the sand around him fell upon the ground, and the sand pushes him violently to the side; Yakate slid on his knees and feet to get back upright and straight. The same massive body of sand whipped away the hige stone block, actually breaking some of the apart. For a finale, Yakate made the sand slam into another giant stony rock, sending it flying towards Asa. Hopefully she wouldn't get crushed by it; Yakate thought to himeslf as he wiped off dust from his clothes, and resumed an upright position. after doing his attack, the sand slid over under Yakate again.

Asako prepared herself for that sort of move. When she saw the rocks fly towards her, she did a leapfrog over it and landed gracefully on the ground.
Quickly, she made a serie of hand seals and suddenly, a blinding light appeared, blinding her opponent. The sand shinobi used the little minnute that Yakate was blinded to run towards him and tried to touch him with Poisoned Touch, but only to paralyze one of his arms or legs for a little time...

Despite the fact that he was blind, he could always detect her chakra signature. She should have known that... but maybe she did. The plan at the beginning of the fight... ha~

He couldn't see anything visibly, but mentally, he could easily sense the inbalance of chakra inside his sister. She was approaching him from... a bit to his north-western side. Luckily, his sand was right near him. As she was a few feet away from hitting him, he spun around, swinging his arms with him; the sand moved similarly, crashing into Asa to throw her off-balance, and move her away from himself. His eyesight came back to him, and he rubbed his eyes, as the sand re-gathered around him. Folding his arms again, he waited for her next move.

Asako jumped back and grinned. Her brother completely understood her plan. She loved the fact that they trained a lot together before. They knew each other better than anyone else.
"Nice move, nii-sama..." she thought. "My turn now. Show me what you got for once."
She made three simple clones and ran again in the direction of her brother, again preparing Poisoned Touch...

She made three simple clones and ran again in the direction of her brother, again preparing Poisoned Touch...

"You were always so... predictable."

While she approached him from her side, he entered another time-lapse of strategical planning. He could just rush a huge wave over the lot, drowning his sister in the process, but he didn't want that. Something that would both stop her, and hurt her; not fatally though.

Looking at all three clones approaching him from the same direction, Yakate crouched down and pushes his arms forwards, towards the four girls. The sand shot swiftly across the ground, in a wide shape, almost like a wave, but in height, it was... a few inches, maybe? The speed and force in the sand would both reveal the clones, and knock his real sister off-balance yet again.

Asako giggles and jumped in his direction with her clones before the waves touched her and tried to kick her brother in the face...
'I got a good sensei, nii-sama...' she thought

While her sister attempted to kick him in the face, Yakate just jumped backwards. Do NOT doubt the kazekage's speed. But of course, they were just playing around, for now.

If this were a fierce fight, Yakate could blow Asa up in a spire of flames, while her foot was still in the air; impossible to dodge. But instead of playing dirty, he just...

When Asa landed on her feet again, he made several hand-seals, very slowly, compared to his average speed. After doing so, he put his right on hand on his left shoulder, and roughly striked along his left arm with his right, making a dagger-like flame fly towards Asa; only one, even though he could send out five flares in quick succession...

Description: The user performs a number of handsigns. Finishing off with a motion similar to lighting a match, the user literally ignites one hand, sending out rapid bursts of fire out of the user's hand. Usually lasts for upto 5 flare-streaks, which take no more than 5 seconds to shoot out.

Then, using the time of the surprise, she jumped back at a safe distance and waited for her brother's next move...

Yakate lost all control of his right arm after that move. With a gasp, Yakate turned around to face Asa, clutching his right arm with his left hand. He felt... or, well, noticed, taht he couldn't use any of the nerves in his right arm. No matter; he still had more attacks left.

Facing his sister, he moved his left hand up to his mouth, shaping it in a strange hand-seal, with a hole formed by his thumb and fore-finger. Then, he began blowing through the middle of the whole, sending numerous amounts of flire-balls; shaped like overlarge water-drops, at Asa. They moved rather quickly; hopefully she would be able to dodge it.

Description: The user shifts one hand into a handsign, and blows through it. Instantly, fire-balls shaped like water drops shoot out of the user's mouth, as if blowing out bubbles, except with much more force. The fireballs are weak, but numerous, and effective against large numbers of enemies.

The blind sand shinobi dodged all fireplumes one by one, but got her sleeves burned. She ripped them off, showing for once to the sun her arms.
'Nice move nii-sama. I'd love to know that elegant jutsu one day...after I'm done training with Surp-sensei that is!'

Yakate was blinded momentarily yet again; and sense that his sister was dashing up the wall, not attacking him. What-oh. Another earth-shaking attack. What to do now...?

Oh, perfect! His sand that was on the other side of the field a while ago finally found his way over to Yakate, forming densely right under him. As the shockwaves from the ground and debris from the attack reached him, he used the sand as... a surfboard. The sand right under him started flying, gracefully, over to another side of the battle-arena, of course, he made the necessary poses as if he really were surfing. The sand crashed far away from where he originally was, while he jump-flipped into the air, and landed roughly on his feet. Now, he was far away from Asa; free from a lot of attacks. Unless she decided to come right up to him for another attack again. Just in case, Yakate re-made the orb of sand surrounding him, to easily block her next attack.

I'll gladly teach you anything; but first, prove to me that you're worthy of it!"

The young girl jumped on a boulder and crossed her arms. She thought her brother was too defensive for a while. Did he want to make the tie now? She didn't know. But what she surely knew was that she was having fun.
A tricky joke came in her mind and she grinned. Her brother wasn't going to like it, but ti would still be fun...
She hid behind the boulder, made a few hand seals and created 10 clones. Then, she used teh transformation jutsu on them, to make them look like spiders. Then, as final touch, she used blinding light and send the "spider-clones" after her brother...
