Joining the Higure

The murky stench was absolutely horrid. Not only was his nose burning up with disgust, his eyes couldn't bear to watch that endless stretch of dirty water; even his feet were stuck a foot deep in mud. Or at least, what he hoped was mud. It could be anything. But despite this decrepit environment, he had to stay there. Why?

That was a long story. A very long one, one fit for novels. But abridged, he had a simple tale. He was here to meet the leader of the Higure. He was here, to join that dastardly group. And right now, no one would know his reason for it.

... Hell, even he didn't know why. All he could do now was wait for the fabled leader.

Ochita entered the swamo silently his black hooded cloak covering his entire body and masking his face."Hello Young ninja..I see you have agreed to accept my request and join tte distruction of this world?" He stated simply, under his hood you could see a wide grin.

He fidgeted with his hands when he heard what the man said. But his mind was dead-set on this purpose. Even though his conscience at the back of his head was yearning out to him, his mind was obstinate.

He faced the man, looking at the darkness that was under his hood. Oichita had an impressive appearance; everything from the way he showed up to the way he spoke made him look powerful and dangerous. Cunning and ruthless. Regardless, Yakate was taken aback. On the contrary, he was happy that he finally came; not worried or nervous at all.

'Agreed? I can already see the Aurora and Blood falling under each of my hands. Let's get on with it, shall we?'

Ochita smiled and removed the hood from his head revealing his face. "Well its nice to know you chose to participate...I can't wait to see you in action my friend." Ochita stated before reaching into a pocket of his cloak and pulling out a peace of paper. "Read this, memorize the instructions...then burn it...fallow the instructions and i'll meet you there with another member soon." He said simply, the paper included step by step instructions on how to find the base of the higure.

With a cautious face, he took this piece of paper in his hand. Looking at the man's real face made him seem less dangerous because of his calm expression, but Yakate could see darkness tracing his eyes. His own eyes darted to the piece of paper; there was writing scrawled on it. It was a guide; written instructions that led to the base of the Higure. As he read them, he remarked how well the spot was chosen, and how well it was hidden from the world. No one but the keenest observer would see where it was without knowing where to look.

As soon as he had read the paper twice and recited the steps in his head many times, he lit a spark in the hand he was holding the paper on. Hastily letting go of it the hot paper, he watched as it blazed momentarily and turned to ashes, burying itself in the swamp.

He took a step back from Oichita, and bowed. He expected to see him disappear, like most great leaders; but he didn't wait to see. He turned around and stood up straight, and walked in the opposite direction he was facing. He was now qualified to be a member of his dark squad; albeit unofficially.
