Yakate has fair-skin, chestnut-brown hair, skinny physique, and green eyes. At first glance, he looks more childish than his real age, due to his looks: He almost always wears a black ninja-headband, without the symbol of his village. On most casual occasions, and during ninja occasions sometimes, he wears his no-sleeved black shirt; old and ripped near his chest, although his skin isn't blemished at all. He wears similar black pants with a belt, his village symbol shining brightly in the center of it. His lower attire is untarnished, unlike his scarred shirt. He wears arm wrappings near his elbows, with a guard somewhere near his upper arm, containing most of his equipment for battle, e.g. shuriken, kunai, etc. Also, he wears black gloves, with only his forefinger and thumb showing.

Other than his normal attire, during ninja missions, he wears a mask to hide his mouth; his bandana keeping his hair uniform and short. He wears a light yet sturdy ANBU coat over his shirt, hiding his arms from view. He keeps extra ninja equipment in a pouch near his waist.

The first impression someone gets when looking at him is of a lazy young man, carefree, careless about everything. He usually walks with a slight stoop, hands in pockets, observing the ground on which he is walking on intently. In open-aired areas, he usally loosens up, letting his hands loose, enjoying everything around him.

When not travelling, i.e. talking to someone or doing something, he acts either serious, if it is a serious matter, or incredibly sleepy, when the conversation/action is not worth it, or, he acts mildly amused and playful if the subject is entertaining.

Personality: Laid-back and carefree, mostly. Rarely acts serious, unless the topic concerns Sunagakure in any way. Other than that, either ignorant or playful, depending on his mood, mostly happy. And a wee bit perverted...

Dislikes to be reminded about his past; either gets really depressed or provoked. Also hates other people who bully less-fortunate ones. Would take simple hate up to a level of murder. Dislikes emotional people/people who whine or complain too much. Likes fun people. Severely unexperienced in serious political occasions, liking to stay quiet when others are talking in groups.

Has a habit of laughing/smiling unconditionally. Also, is slightly curious.Loves to discover new things, especially new battle techniques/jutsus. Respects only senior-ranked ninja, or elderly citizen.
