Name: A Great Many Punches Element: Sound Type: Nintaijutsu Rank: D Range: User Preference Description: The clan member makes his/her own hand vibrate at such speeds that when they strike, the punch is much more powerful and can even tear or burn clothes from the friction caused by the quick vibrations causing the hand to move about instead of staying in place. The downside is that any damage caused to the opponent is also caused to the hand used to punch, unless the user has some kind of protective covering. Precise punches are nearly impossible while using this technique. The strength of the punch is also partly determined by the amount and the density of the protective wear: 0 layers of protective wear- 2x strength of normal punch, 20% of damage is done to the hand itself. 1 layer of protective wear- 1.5x strength of normal punch, 10% of damage is done to the hand itself. 2 layers of protective wear- 1x strength of normal punch, no damage is done to the hand. This is because although the hand vibrates, the protective wear does not carry the vibrations well. Metal gauntlets, even gauntlets made from the clan's special vibration metal, would work even worse, as the hand would vibrate inside the gauntlets and cause much more damage to the hand, despite the increased friction, even possibly causing broken bones. Handseals are not required.
Name: Tap Dancing Rank: D Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: Utilizing the great speed granted by the Resonance bloodline, the user can smack his/her body parts against each other and produce violent sound waves at the points of contact. Further application of the speed allows the user to surround the foe with multiple blasts of sound from all angles, as he/she follows a guerrilla fighting tactic (hit, run, hit, run, etc.). However, this is very tiring, and cannot be continued for more than 2 posts. A cooldown of 2 more posts is required before the user can use any other taijutsu.
Name: Bee's Fist Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: The user begins vibrating his/her limbs at an annoyingly rapid frequency. The vibrations cause a sound to be created, that is very similar to that of a bee buzzing around. Using the technique greatly reduces the individual strength in a punch, but since the hand is vibrating, just touching an object for a second causes about 50 punches to make contact. Maintaining the vibrations consumes a lot of stamina; users usually only begin vibrating their hand just before they are about to make contact with an opponent. Using the technique for only 20 seconds continuously can cause the user to lose most of his/her stamina.
Name: Doing our Laundry Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: 2m Element: Sound Description: The user mimics a motion similar to that of preparing to sling a cloth upon a thread; i.e. the user imitates to motion of preparing for laundry. His/her hands reel back, and are clasped together, as if he/she is holding something. With swift hand joint jerks, the user claps his hands together several times in quick succession, trapping the sound within the palms of his/her hands. The user can continue doing this for about five seconds, and the longer he/she does it, the more powerful is the blast at the end of this technique. However, exceeding 5 seconds causes the sound to be lost. If an opponent approaches a range of 2 meters in front of the user, the user can sling his/her arms forward (again, as if he/she were hanging his/her laundry) and let out the entire blast of sound, which is emitted as a powerful honk and usually staggers the victim.
Name: Resonant Orchestra - Absolute Bass Rank: B Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: The user starts vibrating his/her hand or arm, or any other body part that is convenient. The frequency of the vibrations coincide with whatever object the user's body part is in contact with, and the colliding frequencies of the materials cause the object to shatter. This technique can shatter any object, including human skin; however, when used on human skin, the user's own skin becomes obliterated, since his/her skin's natural frequency is the same as that of the target. It takes immense effort to cause the body to vibrate at such frequencies - after using this technique, the body part used will be ineffective for one post. Sound Ninjutsu- Spoiler:
Name: Vibration Repression Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: D Range: User Preference Description: Requires handseals. After completing the handseals, the clan member can stop all sounds coming from their own bodies. They dampen the vibrations normally caused by sounds coming from their body, making them almost soundless. This does not stop other sound jutsu from being effective. Jutsu lasts for one post; 5 post cooldown. This jutsu does not have any effect on other jutsu.
Name: Sonar Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: 1m - 500m Description: The clan member using this jutsu must first have their bare feet touching the ground. They will then push a single, low-frequency vibration through and along the ground. The vibrations will bounce off of anything inside of or on the ground, allowing the clan member to be able to know where something or someone is. It takes an entire post (the post after this skill is used) to interpret the rebounding vibrations. This leaves the ninja open for attack while he/she is focused on deciphering the huge amount of information. Requires handseals. Only useful once per topic
Name: Vocal/Sound Mimicry Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: User Preference Description: By listening to a person's voice once, the clan member can imitate their voice exactly. They use the exact frequency, pitch, and sound of their voice and duplicate it into their own vocal chords, making a perfect replica. This is mostly used for confusing a foe or even just to annoy an opponent. This can also be used to imitate certain noises. Noises captured electronically cannot be used for this jutsu (the static behind the voice throws off the technique). This mimicry only lasts for two posts, even in non-battle situations, but the clan member can remember the voice or noise for their entire lives. Cooldown of three posts; during this cool-down, the clan member loses his/her voice and cannot speak.
Name: Here and There Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: Sound Description: This technique only works in a walled room/chamber, sealed from all sides. The user creates a sound of relatively low pitch, and continually supplements the sound. Reverberating continuously off the walls of the chamber, the victim's essential sense of hearing will be distorted as he/she hears the same dull note coming from all sides. The Resonance take advantage of this jutsu in the darkness, where the user can 'see' using the reflections of sound, while the victim cannot use sound to detect the user. However, the use has to pause to catch his/her breath; the momentous pause provides an opening for the opponent, albeit being a small one. Also, the persistent reverberation of the sound may continue to ring in the foe's ears, in which case the opponent won't even notice the pause.
Name: Resonant Orchestra - Bass Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 1m Element: Sound Description: The user produces a sound of a frequency that matches the frequency of a selected object. The object will shatter/ disintegrate. The method and speed of the disintegration depends on the material with which the object is made. (e.x. glass will shatter immediately, while clay pottery might disintegrate slowly) The density of the material determines how long the sound will have to be produced before the object breaks. Before using this technique, the user usually taps the targeted object - this tells him/her the natural frequency of sound produced by the object. The user can shatter nearly any material with this technique, provided that the object can be manipulated in some way to produce a sound itself, i.e. the user must know the natural frequency of the material, and produce a sound matching that frequency. At its greatest, the technique can be used to crack human bones - not unless the user can manage to discover the natural frequency of the foe's bones, though.
Name: 100% Volume Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 30m Element: Sound Description: The user screams out with incredible loudness, and a variable pitch. The technique abuses the fact that the middle ear amplifies sound 25 times before it reaches the brain; as soon as the brain receives this sound, the victim feels a sharp, long-lasting pain in his/her brain. The pain lasts ten seconds after the sound dissipates, and while the sound is being produced. If the pitch is taken outside the audible range of the human ear, the sharp pain seems to have been caused without stimulus. The user is usually not affected by this. Name: Crushing Cry Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 5m - 20m Element: Sound Description: The user produces a pulse infrasound of extremely low frequency, but of remarkably high amplitude (i.e. very loud) with his/her voice. The inaudible sound wave produced is massive in size, and the compressions and rarefactions caused by it are plainly visible, as a powerful gale is set up where the pulse of sound passes. The sheer pressure within the compressed zone is enough to crush solid objects; a human's bones might crack if the person is standing at the zone of the compression, as air particles constrict upon him/her from all sides. However, at any other part of the sound wave, the foe will only experience a breeze passing by him/her. The distance at which the compression will form can be controlled by the pitch of the sound. The jutsu requires no handseals, but has a cool-down of 2 posts, during which the user in unable to utilize voice-based techniques.
Name: Blood Burst Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 10m Element: Sound Description: The fact that this technique is sound-based makes it necessary for the user to ensure that the sound isn't projected around his/her own body - most of the time, the user cups his/her hands around his/her mouth carefully, although any other method may be used. The user creates a sound of very low frequency, well below human hearing range. The frequency of the sound oscillates between 4 hertz to 10 hertz. At a random frequency between the aforementioned range, the sound will coincide with the natural frequency of the opponent's digestive system. This won't destroy the opponent's insides, but it will cause him/her to cough up blood, and experience a terrible pain in his/her abdomen. Exposure to this sound for over 30 seconds can cause internal bleeding as well, further increasing the pain. Death can occur with extensive exposure to the sound due to blood loss. This is usually used for torturing people, and is used in controlled environments, lest the sound is received by the user's own body. The sensation occurs because the opponent's insides begin vibrating at a violent rate.
