Closer and Closer

Anyone in the area would feel the potent chakra signature drawing near, and very fast too. Raijin wasted no time, he was determined to defeat the invading Sand shinobi. The Sand's Kage was the closest to the group so that was the preferred target of the three unfamiliar ones. Speeding towards Yakate's location, Raijin had seen flames in the distance, very large flames. He jumped onto the tree branches and continued making his way to Yakate. High elevation would surely give him an advantage if the target was on ground.

With one final leap Raijin landed on a thick branch; Yakate was in view jogging away from the area. "Now where exactly do you think you're going Sand ninja? You're chakra is incredible so you must be a very strong and experienced shinobi..." He crouched down and took a seat on the branch, allowing his legs to hang freely, the cloak still draped over his body. "I want you to know that you're in for a rude welcoming." In a few minutes, or less, the others would arrive.

Shinji was following Raijin within a safe distance keeping him eyed all the time just in case the man decides to do something that he would regret but the Hattori's guard was not focused just on him but to the people around him too. When he was dashing to where Yahiko was he had felt the same chakra signature close to him but he had direct orders to contact the Senju first. Now he was sure all of the people he had called were enough to deal with the man they were following despite his strong presence in the area.

The chuunin landed on the same thich branch which was amazingly long and thick but that didn't surprise him at all - he was born here. He and Yahiko had an amazing advantage against the others as both knew the Swamp as good as their names.
Shinji observed how the man who had a sand sphere with him annihilated some sort of an insect swarm. This insects though reacted negatively to everyone who is a foreigner to this Marsh or so they say that the myth why the Marsh Country is so uninviting was created by the hostile flora and fauna which somehow did not bother harassing natives of the Marsh Country or so it was told by the elders.

Shinji smirked as he realized that he was blessed with the water element to counter this man's fire and probably sand assuming from the sand sphere he had. So since they were going to be together fighting this guy the Hattori had to make sure he at least knew a little about their fighting.
"Tell me...how do you fight ?" He asked with his eyes kept on the man from Sand.

So tranquil was the Sand shinobi, despite the fact that he was challenged by three deadly shinobi and more were to come; Raijin almost took this as an insult. A knowledgeable shinobi would know very well that these areas hold Methane, a highly flammable compound that can easily combust when mixed with Oxygen and other elements. From what he had recently seen while heading here, the use of fire in the vicinity wouldn't set off an explosion, but rather form into a more powerful heat source! Maybe if they were all fighting in the actual Swamp, the results would be different. The Uchiha watched the Sand shinobi closely, the slightest move would put Raijin on guard.

To his surprise, Yakate immediately began his attack sequence. Using his Sand manipulation, Yakate created four quaters of Sand piles. One of the quaters continuously rotated around his feet, the other two set on the grass before him, and the last used for his attack. About eighty shuriken formed from the sand and shot out at the Uchiha and Shinji. Most of them were directed at Raijin and the rest traveled aimlessly in a circle. Quickly setting his soles on the bark of the branch and pushing himself off, he launched himself upwards, though he leaned back. As he ascended he performed hand seals. Raijin expelled several superheated fireballs. They all passed through the wave of shuriken, slowly beginning to melt them. Each of the fireballs successfully moved past the projectiles, that were now in liquid state, and continued their paths towards Yakate.

Since Raijin was at high elevation, the usual elements were abundant compared to the smaller percentage of Methane. In mid-air, Raijin released two more of the fireballs, this time directing them towards the sky. He landed on another branch just six meters from his previous location. As for the fireballs (3) sent at Yakate, they accumulated into larger and more devastating fireballs thanks to the Methane released from biomass at ground level. "Water shall be the key to victory!"

Housenka no Jutsu - Mythical Fire Phoenix Technique

Katon • Housenka no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals and then emits a series of small fire balls. The ninja can also hurl a projectile which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. Meaning that even if the flames are put out, the projectiles still converge on the target. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai.

Ryo felt the younger Swamp shinobi behind him and noticed he had landed next to Raijin below him. Now they were three. As long as Ryo kept the focus off him, he knew they would be okay. But if he preformed as he could, at the top of his game, as he knew he'd have to with an opponent such as this and wanting to win Raijins favor he would have to come out strong.

The Swamp nin spoke to the sand shinobi and it seemed to agitate him and immediately after he responded and launched into an attack. Scattering sand after a quick survey on par with an inventory he himself would take and then scattered sand around and sending a ton of sand shuriken their way. Well focused at Raijin and around the Swamp nin and he mostly safe from them. Raijin leapt into action to counter and attack. Sending blasts of fire ripping through the sand and continuing towards the powerful sand ninja who was still unknown to Ryo.

Raijin was in the air sending his final attack, and Ryo took his chance leaping behind Raijin, forcing chakra through his feet, and pushing off his branch with enough force to render the branch to splinters. as Raijin began to fall back to the earth, and the fire ball he had launched had grown in size, blocking the view of Ryo from the sand nin. He took the opportunity to attack himself, forming hand signs pulling his head back, upon completing a huge bolt of lighining was fired from his mouth following the fire ball to catch the nin unaware.

As he fired the blast he held it for a moment and followed his target to chase him if he moved, but soon released it, and fell back to the earth landing a 20 yards from raijins right side and to the left of the Sand ninjas side. His extra chakra push from the jump off the branch had pushed him much further then expected but still he was sharp and close enough to react to anything thrown at him.

The sand clones the man made would hopefully be dispelled since the one who made them was hopefully was hurt and his concentration was broken enough to force him to drop the clones. That was all a hope at least and he figured if he could get him away from the sand at his feet he could remove his defenses to, but all these were hopes and at least he should make the man move away from the sand at his feet. Sand was a form of earth so even if it was used to block the fire, it'd be weakened and the earth would be shattered by the lighning. That is if it was used for defense.

Raijin yelled about water being key, but if he was right, and sand was a form of earth nature, lightning would be just as effective. I wonder why he hadn't thought of that...

"Tsch..like a boss." Shinji muttered as he was annoyed by the sand ninja's reply. " I will make you cry like a b*tch"
The sand ninja did not waste any time on any more words and launched his expected offensive. Sand and Fire - that was all he knew about the man they were fighting. That made the inner Shinji smirk as he had the perfect counter elements but still he had to keep a cool head and not reveal his attack patters or any information on himself and use the art of surprise, something which he was master at.

The sand emitted had turned into lots of shurikens that were launched at the three's positions. The man who back at the coast was eager to fight was quicker to evade away to one side along with the other one who had a weird hair. Shinji used jumped off the branch away on the next tree evading the shurikens but he kept dashing through a few trees attempting to outflank his enemy. The Hattori knew well he should not rush too much to outflank because he had to keep the man's attention away as much as possible from him.

His two fighting partners launched a pretty powerful counter attack - massive fireballs and a lightning that seemed to destroy everything in his path. Good. Now Shinji could read what his partners powers were and also what would the sand ninja do against such a strong attack. The chuunin did not waste any more time and quickly adapted to the situation realizing what his move should be so that it would maximize the difficulty of the attacks of the others two but also do not reveal much about Shinji.
"Water is key!" Seemed to yell out the black haired teammate and Shinji frowned as he was doing handseals. Then why did he sent out fireballs for god's sake ?
"Scattering One Thousand Crows Technique" whispered Shinji as a flock of crows popped out of nowhere around Yakate both annoying him and blocking his vision.

Jutsu used:

Yahiko clenched his fist tightly and created a wood clone. The clone formed from the very skin of his body and rushed to the scene of the battle in a different direction. " why at a time like this is my home being attacked we were so close to our goal and now it was ruined because of these intruders!" he yelled loudly as he approached the battle field seeing his uchiha comrade battling one of the invading ninja "Uchiha step aside for now i will restrain this ruffin and you dispose of him!" His clones appeared directly above the ninja and formed hand seals as well did yahiko. "Jubaku no Jutsu - Tree Restraints Technique" beams of wood from multiple sides came racing at the ninja to restrain him and trap him. it seemed as if there was no place to run or hide.

Jubaku no Jutsu - Tree Restraints Technique

Moku Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Wood element. The ninja will form handseals and cause beams of wood to emerge from their body or a wood source. This wood will morph and form a clone of the ninja, capable of utilizing all the same Mokuton techniques as the original.

Just as expected, the enemy had avoided the Fireballs. The Sand below was used to transport himself to one of the piles directly in front of him. Unfortunately, Ryo's attack had failed as well. Raijin stood on the tree branch, observing Yakate's movements. Shinji took action after, summoning forth a flock of crows. There had to be at least two hundred of them circling Yakate and blocking his view; this was truly a murder. Good move!

Then, out of the blue, the Senju made an entrance. Pillars of wood shot out from the trees around, directed at Yakate, who was surrounded and annoyed by the crows. Wait! Where are the clones!?!? He quickly spotted them out. They were running to the previous tree, but why did they leave trails of Sand behind? What was even more fascinating was that the grains of Sand were glowing red. All of this Sand, it needs to be dealt with...

There was little that Raijin can do now, not without the presence of Water. As stated before, Water was going to be a key factor in this battle. Unlike Fire and Lightning it could render Sand usless. But might as well take advantage of the situation. Raijin drew four kunai, throwing two at the other Sand pile and another two at the Sand Yakate had submerged into. If he chose to use the Sand as a mean of transportation he'd be greeted by the projectiles.

His attack missed. Damn. The Swamp nin had made a good move by covering him in crows and hindering his view. The clones however were now on the move towards the tree they were all juts at. So much had juts occurred. It seemed the sand was used as a way to transport himself to evade attacks, as well as attack. While he was once again hindered from view maybe he hadn't seen Ryo unleash his attack. It was of reasonable power and if he could help it wanted to stay off of this Sand ninjas radar for a bit longer.

Not only that but there appeared to be a trail left by the sand clones as they charged haphazardly ahead. This was unique. Obviously a skilled and clever shinobi why would he do something seemingly haphazardly? The sand trail was turning a red, almost crimson color, moving up the sand trail left by the clones, traveling from the hindered ninja to the clones. Interesting. He knew the man had Sand manipulation, clearly, and fire form the previous explosion..could this be a combination or an advancement of his Sand technique? Regardless he could test both theories.

His sight was hindered greatly by the mass of birds, and then a sudden appearance of the other Swamp man form before! He was a type of wood user it seemed, causing wood to emerge and rush the practically blind shinobi. He yelled his plan to Raijin, seeming to exclude the other two. Regardless it did change his plans a bit. Instead of testing his theory he moved against the clones, to halt their advance. Preforming a small set of rapid hand motions, he pulled water into his chest, kneading chakra and converting it to water, he then expelled two water gunshots, each aimed at a different sand clone. Ryo had great aim and nothing to hinder his shots. They should hit home on destroying the back of one clone and soaking the sand in the process, and the other was about to lose a head and upper torso, also becoming clumps of wet sand. Thus Halting their advance, as he returned his attention back to the Sadn ninja to await a further development or opportunity

It's also possible to increase the power of destruction of the balls themselves by building up the chakra inside of them. The number of bullets is determined while kneading chakra. By taking advantage of gravity, the bullets can brutally increase in power.

The sand ninja disappeared and then reappeared at a different place. This would prove that he would be pretty hard to catch and utilizing his knowledge Shinji realized that their opponent was clearly a fighter from long range so maybe the Hattori should risk and attack at melee range where he excelled mostly. The two sand clones which were ignored were heading towards the group of defenders of swamp leaving trails of...crimson sand ? This was something Shinji could not perceive and it may turn out to be quite dangerous but before that one of his teammates had used his water element to dissolve the sand clones rendering them useless.

"Good. We are making progress. Now where the hell is that Yahiko ?" He asked himself and at that moment wood popped out around the crow harassed sand ninja in attempt to immobilize him. Now was the time to strike! Shinji had formulated quickly a plan while hiding in the trees he had created a water clone of himself which jumped down and rushed towards the sand ninja doing hand seals. At the same time the Hattori had masked very well his presence and chakra which was part of the Silent Killing Method. The chuunin had to try this plan, he might succeed and end this.

"Water Release: Syrup Capture Field" The clone muttered and sent out a wave of syrup like water where the man was. Not only would this trap him but it would render his sand useless and thus the sand ninja would most likely be unable to use that technique of moving with the sand unless he turned into sand and was invincible. If he dodged he would be the target of Shinji who had with swift speed outflanked him and was rushing him from behind with his steps barely emitting any sound and that sound was overwhelmed by the sound of spewing water and the popping out trees. The Hattori had his katana unsheath and he calculated where could appear just in case Shinji's attack did not connect.
The chuunin timed his attack with the upcoming water and stabbed at the sand ninja's back.

Jutsu used:

Yahiko watched as all his comrades attacks failed including his own. The sand shinobi had cleaverly created a sand shield that completely covered him along with the crows." This is unbelievable i wont let you live any longer ! i have to think of something fast" Suddenly the sand dome had begun glowing crimson in color as well as the trail of sand. Based on what he had seen before when he was heading to the area this shinobi was capible of using fire techniques ,if the glowing sand was some how a combination of sand and fire, they all would be screwed because of the methane. Yahiko stood his ground shifting his eye's towards the sand dome and back at the trails of sand. He performed a set of hand seals as fast as he could slamming his hands together afterwards. the ground trembled and then the earth had risened. Yahiko was ascending very quickly. In just a second yahiko was just already 12 meters high and still rising, escaping the intense heat exerting from the glowing sand "my comrades head to me right away" As he looked down at the glowing sand dome 40 meters below he witnessed a explosion. Yahiko crouched and sighed in relief as he escaped the fatal blast.

Doryuu Jouheki - Earth Style Rampart

Doton • Doryuu Jouheki is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. The ninja will do the necessary hand seals. Then a large earthen wall will erupt from the ground.

Incredible! This Sand shinobi managed to defend himself against all of these attacks! All of the Sand in the area attracted towards the ninja, enveloping himself and the crows. At this point the ninja wasn't going to be able to see a thing happening outside his shield. "What exactly does he think he's doing? Defending himself like th-" Then it happened, his Sand was beginning to glow crimson in color, something didn't feel right.

Beneath the soles of his sandals did the tree tremble with such magnitude! Raijin looked down at the ground and could see the vibrations. Suddenly, the entire land mass beneath Yahiko had risen very quickly, as if the force of gravity had suddenly changed. It was obviously a Doton (Earth) technique. While this was occuring a heat wave had also hit Raijin's face, and boy was it hot and getting hotter. The Uchiha heard the Senju call him and the rest of the crew. "Damn, this must be a Katon (Fire) technique!" With such graceful speed did Raijin shunshin to Yahiko's side, escaping the intense heat below. Hopefully, his comrades would do the same thing to avoid being roasted.

And boom! The red Sand around Yakate and on the ground had combusted, setting off an explosion of flames with the help of methane. If the blast occured right beside Yakate's shield, was there a chance that it had been weakened? Only one way to find out! Calculating the exact location of Yakate's Sand dome, the Uchiha held out his right hand and charged it with Lightning. From the tip of his fingers shot a blade of highly charged Lightning, like a bolt from the clouds. He rushed off. With such speed, this blade was definately meant to kill with one strike. The target was the body shielded by the Sand shield, that was now beginning to fall, which meant that Yakate was leaving.

Chidori Eisou - Thousand Birds Sharp Spear

Chidori Eisou is a Lightning Element technique. The ninja is able to shape the Lightning Element to form an extending spear of lightning. Though unstated, this spear probably takes on Chidori's characteristics, including it's ability to cut through mostly anything which stands in its path, allowing the sword to strike its target with ease.

As Shinji lunged his sword forward a barrier of sand appeared and his sword seemed stuck inside. The Hattori had numerous efforts of pulling it out while noticing the sand turning crimson. Something felt wrong and the chuunin felt danger while his heart pulse was increasing drastically. Shinji had underestimated his opponent and his impatience had made him to lunge forward an enemy he had not much known about. He was an assassin he knew that information and knowledge is great power and here he was tossing away every law he had been taught in the Hunter-nin corpse. The crimson color was covering more ground around and the heat made Shinji sweat.

His mistake would cost his life. He failed to defend his village and now all that was left were prayers that the others fighting would achieve victory. Shinji had underestimated so many facts as for example the methane in the area, he thought that if he was at home he'd have an advantage it seems he was wrong and as he seemed to surrender to the heat and impending death a rope...of water ?... wrapped him and he suddenly felt weightless holding his sword in his hand while the heat slowly diminishing until his thoughts and mental fade away he felt his head crash into something hard - the ground.
After a few seconds Shinji realized he was saved and jumped from his sad state suddenly, his eyes once again full of energy but this time they looked cold.
The chuunin noticed his savior it was the man who had followed the fire user, his saviour was also a water user.

Shinji was reborn in this battle once again his experience of fights coming back to his mind again and he was turning into the ninja he was while he was a hunter. A cold and calculating one.
"You two. Give me your names." He simply said and nodded at his saviour in a way of gratitude. " We need communication for teamwork first of all."

"And lots of water." He nodded to Yahiko who had saved the whole group from the sand ninja.

Yahiko watched from above as Raijin rushed off the land mass, Using the lightning element to attack the opponent. A wasted effort though seeing the sand nin evade the blade of lightning and flee from the area. Yahiko jumped off the mountain and landed on his feet. He dashed after the enemy, catching him create clones of sand and create a thick mist afterwards. Yahiko couldn't see anything in the mist but he could still hear. And the enemy had given away their position by asking a question.

He bent down resting his knee on the ground and touched the soil. Nature itself was beginning to speak to him. The roots below had given him the location of the enemy, along wit the voice. He performed a handseals and from beneath Yakate and the clones erupted vines and later a large tree. The vines would whip all around with enough force to leave deep cuts. The vines would also try and entangle around the clones and Yakate. "copy my handseals Uchiha.." He whispered. One attack wasn't enough though! He performed other handseals and fired a jet stream of water from his mouth. Sending it towards the direction from where the tree emerged.

Another failed attempt! This was beginning to annoy the Uchiha. The glowing blade that was now partially embedded in the ground had faded away. Raijin had fallen down to the ground, landing on his feet. Now was that time to go serious! From the mountain top above jumped Yahiko, rushing in after Yakate. Unfortunately, the Sunagakure ninja had created a field of mist, concealing himself. Yahiko could only be seen outside of the mist touching the ground. Raijin sprinted towards the Senju and stipped beside him.

Further ahead, a large shadow emerged. After growing in size, Raijin was able to realize that Yahiko had used a Mokuton technique to create the tree. Raijin was then told to copy the following hand seals. He activated his Sharingan and copied every single seal, releasing his own jet of water in the same direction. To make the attack more lethal, he released a bolt of Lightning into the water.
